Bear Kills Deer In Maywood Backyard, Police Say
A bear killed a fawn in a New Jersey backyard before disappearing into the night Monday night, June 9, authorities confirmed. Officers responded to a home on Hartwich Street around 8:40 p.m. on Monday, June 10, for a report of a dead deer in the yard, according to Maywood Police Sgt. William Phayre. The bear was spotted by patrol leaving the yard, Phayre said. Animal Control was notified and arrived shortly after to remove the deceased deer. A 23-year-old man faces charges after allegedly forcing his way into a Westchester residence that he previously burglarized, police said. New Rochelle resident Francis Voltaire was arrested on Wednesday, Nov. 6 following an incident earlier in the day that occurred on Lispenard Avenue in New Rochelle, according to the city's police department. Three suspects in car break-ins have been arrested on the Jersey Shore, authorities said. On Friday June 10, at 3:28 a.m, Jackson Police Officer Travis Ceppaluni responded to a residence on Round Hill Road when a resident reported being alerted by his Ring security camera of an unknown person in his driveway near his vehicles.
