An off-duty police officer came upon a grim scene along a busy Maryland road, where a 72-year-old woman had been struck by a passing vehicle. Silver Spring resident Enyish Sergawie Asemahegne, 72, has been identified by the Montgomery County Police Department as the pedestrian killed trying to cross a busy roadway during the morning commute on Wednesday. Crash In Silver Spring Reportedly Kills One, Pins Another:

A multiple vehicle collision has reportedly killed at least one person, according to initial and unconfirmed reports. The crash occurred just before 5 p.m., Friday, Aug. 5 in the 531 block of Randolph Road, the reports state. One victim was allegedly ejected from a vehicle while another is reported to be pinned.
