Trespasser Killed By Train Near Newark Airport, Rail Officials Say; Heavy Delays Reported
A person was fatally struck by a train near Newark Airport on Wednesday morning, July 16, authorities said. The man, who has not been identified, was struck by a train at 8 a.m., NJ Transit said. The train departed Trenton at 7:11 a.m. and was scheduled to arrive at Penn Station at 8:23 a.m. There were no reported injuries to the 800 customer and crew on board. A person was struck and killed by a Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) train on Friday afternoon, March 7. The incident happened near the Copiague station, near Great Neck Road and Railroad Avenue, shortly before 4 p.m. A "trespasser" was on the tracks when they were struck by a train, an MTA spokesperson told Daily Voice. Bridgeport Train Collision Delays New Haven Line
This story has been updated. A collision between two trains in Bridgeport has delayed train service up to 10 to 15 minutes on the New Haven line. The crash, which occurred around 1:42 Thursday, took place at 525 Water St., between a work locomotive and a passenger train that was out of service when one ran into the back of the other at a very low speed, said MTA officials. According to officials, no passengers were aboard either train and the department is investigating a report of one minor injury to an employee. This is a developing story.
