Man Killed By Hudson Bergen Light Rail In Jersey City: NJ Transit
A man was struck and killed by a Hudson Bergen Light Rail train late Thursday in Jersey City, authorities said. Just before 12 a.m. Friday, Aug. 8, a light rail vehicle that left West Side Avenue at 11:48 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive at Exchange Place at 12:24 a.m. hit an adult male trespasser near the Garfield Avenue Station, NJ Transit spokespersons said. Officials have identified the pedestrian struck and killed by an NJ Transit train on Monday, Dec. 16. John Redinger, 62, of Ramsey, was struck by Train No. 56 on the Port Jervis Line east of the Ramsey station around 9:15 a.m., NJ Transit spokesman Kyalo Mulumba said. The train, which departed Port Jervis at 7:39 a.m., was scheduled to arrive in Hoboken at 9:52 a.m. There were no injuries reported to the approximately 10 customers and crew on board.
