Woman Charged After Nine Starving Animals Rescued From 'Deplorable' Conditions
A 45-year-old woman was arrested for nine counts of animal abuse after the police had been to the home on a child neglect issue and found the mistreated and abused animals. The unidentified woman was arrested on Tuesday, May 28, when Putnam County SPCA officers responded to the Kent home following the report of possible animal neglect, said the SPCA. The issue came to light when the Kent Police were assisting the Putnam County Child Protective Services at the home in regard to the welfare of a child and unsanitary living conditions. A Westchester County man was arrested on alleged animal cruelty charges after his badly injured Beagle was found running loose and saved by a Good Samaritan. Nuno Afonso-Gouveia of Yonkers was arrested on Saturday, April 6, by Putnam County SPCA officers after his dog "Snoopy," was found running loose near the Meadowlands Auto Dealership on Route 6, in Carmel, said Ken Ross, Chief of the Putnam County SPCA. Man Charged With Animal Cruelty After Neglected Thoroughbred Horses Found In Putnam
A Putnam County man is in custody and facing time in jail for allegedly abusing emaciated thoroughbred horses who were neglected, according to the SPCA. The Putnam County SPCA announced on Wednesday, Dec. 26, that Putnam Valley resident Paul O’Dair has been arrested and charged with two counts of animal cruelty for allegedly abusing two horses.
