The Jersey City Fire Department executed a bold rescue early Saturday, May 17, authorities said. At 2;43 a.m., the Jersey City Fire Department responded to a person stranded nearly 100 feet down on a bridge support beneath the Pulaski Skyway, the city shared on its official Instagram account. Using an advanced rope rescue system and the Arizona Vortex device, crews worked together to safely reach and retrieve the individual, authorities said. Man Found Floating In Hackensack River In Jersey City: Prosecutor
A 49-year-old Cliffwood man was found floating in the Hackensack River on Tuesday, Jan. 28, authorities said. At 4:30 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a body floating underneath the Pulaski Skyway and Bryan Linington was found floating in the water, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Linington was removed from the water by the Jersey City Fire Department and pronounced dead at 7:30 p.m., Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Five of the victims in a fiery Newark crash that killed six people earlier this month have been identified, authorities said. At 10:47 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6, a vehicle carrying six people was traveling on Raymond Boulevard toward the Route 1&9 southbound on-ramp, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens II said.
