Garfield Native, Cancer Survivor, Killed In Fatal Crash
John DeFalco, a 71-year-old Rockaway resident, was killed in a fatal crash on Route 80 on Sunday, June 8, authorities said.
At 9:18 a.m., a Kia Sportage driven by DeFalco was traveling westbound on Route 80 in Parsippany-Troy Hills when it veered off the roadway to the right and struck a guardrail, causing the vehicle to overturn, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for New Jersey State Police said.
Defalco was pronounced dead at the scene, Lebron said.

Missing NC Woman Located In Gettysburg, But Family Pleads For Her Return
Martina Zellars, a North Carolina woman briefly located in Pennsylvania at the end of December, remains missing, and her family is issuing urgent pleas for her safe return.
Zellars, 31, was stopped by Pennsylvania State Police in near Gettysburg on Tuesday, Dec. 26, after her vehicle was flagged by an Automatic License Plate Reader, authorities said.
While she appeared safe and in no distress during the encounter, police said, Zellars has yet to return home, leaving her family desperate for answers.

Passaic Valley Alum Struck In Head By Line Drive At College Baseball Practice, Family Says
Nicholas Fiorita was days into his baseball career at the County College of Morris when the unthinkable happened.
The freshman, who graduated from Passaic Valley High School last spring, was struck in the head by a line drive at practice on Wednesday, Sept. 4, according to a GoFundMe campaign launched by his sister, Sofia.
