Man Fatally Struck By NJ Transit Train In North Jersey A man was fatally struck by an NJ Transit train Tuesday, Nov. 7. The Morris & Essex Line train struck the man just west of the Madison station around 3:30 p.m., an NJ Transit official said. None of the 60 passengers on the train were hurt. The train had left Penn Station and was scheduled to arrive in Dover at 4:05 p.m. Rail service was experiencing an hour delay in both directions at 5:50 p.m., NJ Transit officials said.

According to officials, the person was struck around 12:50 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 9 near the New Hyde Park station.  The 12:14 a.m. train originated from Penn Station en route to Ronkonkoma, MTA officials said. Person Killed By NYC Bound Train In Millburn A male was struck and killed by a train early Tuesday morning in Millburn, NJ Transit officials said. The victim was struck by the Morris and Essex Train 6602 -- which departed from Dover at 4:16 a.m. -- east of the Millburn station around 5:15 a.m., NJ Transit spokeswoman Mariluz Garcia-Diaz said. None of the 25 passengers on board were injured. The victim's age and identity were not immediately known. The train was set to arrive at Penn Station in New York at 5:44 a.m. Rail service between Dover and East Orange was delayed by one hour.

80 Passengers Evacuated After Train Misses Hitting Car Struck On Tracks On Long Island An LIRR train missed hitting an empty vehicle stopped on the tracks but caused some 80 passengers to take a bus to their destination. The incident took place around 10:34 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 21, when a train out of Penn Station headed for Hempstead,  reported an automobile on the tracks near Stewart Manor, said Michael Cortez, spokesman for the MTA. North Jersey Coastline Train 7216 struck the female pedestrian at 8:10 a.m. -- four minutes after leaving the Long Branch Station, NJT Spokesman Jim Smith said. Service was suspended between Little Silver and Middletown, with bus service offered as a substitution. None of the 37 customers or crew were injured, Smith said.
