Pedestrian Hit By Car While Holding Baby: New Providence Police A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle while holding a baby in New Providence on Tuesday, June 24, authorities said. At 12:27 p.m., officers responded to Springfield Avenue and Central Avenue after receiving a report of a pedestrian struck, New Providence police said. Officers and EMS evaluated the pedestrian, who sustained minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital, police said. The baby was not injured but was taken to a pediatrician as a precaution, police said. The driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian was issued a summons, police said.

Arrest Made In Crash That Killed Beloved Lancaster Pediatrician A man has been arrested in a connection with a hit-and-run in Lancaster that killed a pediatrician last fall, according to a release by police. Rodolfo Paradas, 51, of Lancaster, was driving a van to work when he struck Dr. Steven F. Killough as he crossed West Chestnut Street at North Prince Street in Oct. 2021, according to an updated release by Lancaster City police. Paradas didn't have a valid driver's license, police say. Passaic's Jewish Community Mourns Beloved St. Mary's Pediatrician Elliot Samet Elliot Samet, a beloved physician at St. Mary's General Hospital, died of coronavirus Tuesday. Samet, remembered as a "leading pediatrician" in Passaic's Jewish community, practiced medicine for 38 years and served as a primary neonatologist at St. Mary's. He was also a founding member of Passaic's Hatzolah, volunteer emergency medical service organization serving Jewish communities around the world.
