A New Jersey corrections officer was arrested and charged after he took his 14-year-old son to a park to fight another child, authorities announced Thursday, Sept. 24. Anthony Sanchez, a 19-year veteran corrections officer at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution, is charged with endangering the welfare of a child, aggravated assault and employing a juvenile to commit a criminal offense, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said. Medical Episode Brings Authorities To Local Park
What initially was believed to have been a hit-run accident was a medical episode at a local park. Witnesses originally believed that a bicyclist struck a group of people in Saddle River County Park, however, the incident was later confirmed to be a man having a seizure. Ambulances were called to the area of Saddle River County Park's Saddle Brook duck pond at approximately 1:40 p.m. for the man suffering the medical episode and a woman who was injured when he went down, witnesses tell Daily Voice.
