Six Arrested At Patchogue Sobriety Checkpoint: Suffolk County Police Six people were arrested during a sobriety checkpoint in Patchogue over the holiday weekend, Suffolk County Police announced on Saturday, Aug. 30. The overnight checkpoint was conducted by the Highway Patrol Bureau’s Selective Alcohol Fatality Enforcement Team with assistance from the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police at Waverly Plaza on North Service Road, starting at 11 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29 until 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, according to police. Sobriety Checkpoint: 7 Charged During Overnight Detail In Patchogue Seven people are facing charges after an overnight sobriety checkpoint at the start of the Memorial Day weekend on Long Island. Authorities conducted the operation in Patchogue at the intersection of Waverly Avenue and North Service Road from around 11:10 p.m. Friday, May 26, until 2:30 a.m. Saturday, May 27.  A total of 523 vehicles went through the checkpoint, Suffolk Couty Police said. It was conducted in Patchogue at Waverly Avenue and North Service Road between 11:15 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, and 2:20 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20.
