Fatal Shooting Leads To Standoff With Police In Capital Region
Police in the Capital Region were engaged in an armed standoff with the suspect in a fatal shooting Friday evening, Sept. 30, NewsChannel 13 reports. Police in Albany were called to the 400 block of Hamilton Street just before 4 p.m Friday with reports of a shooting, Albany Police spokesperson Steve Smith said. Nearly an hour later, Smith said the victim had died and the shooting was being investigated as a homicide. Published Author ID'd As Victim In Fatal Hit, Run Crash In Capital District
A woman who was killed by a hit-and-run driver in the region has been identified as a published author. Police in Albany were called at around 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, with reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a car on Clinton Avenue near North Swan Street. Investigators said the victim, 31-year-old Tanisha Brathwaite, of Albany, was pronounced dead at the scene. Fire Damages Multiple Homes In Capital District
Multiple homes were damaged when a fire broke out in a Capital District neighborhood. In Albany County, firefighters in Watervliet were called at around 2 p.m. Thursday, July 28th, with reports of a residential fire near 6th Avenue and 23rd Street. Multiple homes were impacted by the fire but there were no reports of injuries, according to the Watervliet Fire Department. Capital District Shooting Victim ID'd As Music Entrepreneur With 'Kind Heart'
Authorities have identified a 27-year-old Capital District woman who was fatally shot in broad daylight in Albany. Dominique Eley, of Albany, was found at around 1:30 p.m. Sunday, July 3, near North Pearl Street and Livingston Avenue, according to Albany Police.
