A murder suspect from out of state barricaded himself inside a Harrisburg home before being taken into custody following a police standoff on Monday, Aug. 25, authorities said. The incident began shortly before 1 p.m. when Harrisburg police and SERT units were called to the area of 4th and Peffer streets for a fugitive wanted for homicide in Northern New Jersey, according to Dauphin County District Attorney Fran Chardo and emergency dispatch. A 64-year-old murder suspect was taken into custody after barricading himself in a Philadelphia home, authorities said. The incident was over just before noon on Monday, Aug. 12 without any injuries, Philadelphia police said. Philadelphia police and U.S. marshals had surrounded the home.
