A menorah and sign supporting Israel were vandalized in Framingham, in what police are investigating as a potential hate crime. The menorah at Centre Common on Edgell Road was found knocked down, and a sign voicing support for Israel was taken, police said Monday, Dec. 18. Surveillance video showed an unidentified person knocking the menorah over shortly before 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16, one day after the end of Hanukkah. Watch: Man Destroys Menorah On Long Island Front Lawn
Police are searching for a man who caused thousands of dollars of damage in what appears to be a hate crime. It happened on Wednesday, Nov. 15 in Hempstead. According to Nassau County Police, the unknown vandal walked up to a large menorah sitting on the front lawn of a Nassau Boulevard home just after 12:30 a.m. He then used an unknown object to smash two of the menorah’s lightbulbs, causing approximately $2,000 worth of damage before fleeing on foot. Menorahs Sold At HomeGoods, Marshalls Recalled For Catching Fire
One of the most famous and religiously significant styles of candle holders has been recalled since it may catch fire— which would be a problem since traditionally candles use flames. The recall comes after TJX Companies— which includes HomeGoods, Marshalls and Homesense— received three reports of the menorahs catching on fire while holding lit candles, according to a release by US Consumer Product Safety Commission. Missing Large, Outdoor Menorah Is Found
A missing, outdoor menorah has been found. On Wednesday, Dec. 16, the menorah set up this holiday season at the Kelley Square rotary in Worcester was reported missing. Worcester Police investigated the disappearance on Wednesday and found the item by the afternoon - near the roundabout. The menorah was never stolen, police said. It is not clear how or why the menorah moved from its standing position in the rotary. A menorah is a Jewish symbol of hope during the Hanukkah holiday.

Large, Downtown Menorah Stolen
The large menorah has been stolen from the city’s downtown. On Wednesday, Dec. 16, at around 11:30 a.m., police said that the menorah set up at the Kelley Square rotary in Worcester has been stolen. The incident is under investigation, Worcester Police said. The menorah is a Jewish symbol of the Hanukka holiday.
