Allen Adams spent his life making New Jersey's roads safer. On Thursday, July 31, the 50-year-old construction worker from Lumberton was killed in a Toms River work zone after being struck by an alleged drunk driver, according to his family and authorities in Ocean County. Adams was hit around 1 a.m. on Route 9 near Raymond Avenue, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office. He was rushed to Community Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. A family was rallying for support after a former Edison firefighter died, according to a fundraising campaign. Ray Tibok, 58, died suddenly on Thursday, Aug. 8, a GoFundMe page said. He had served as a firefighter for the Edison Township Fire Department for 30 years before retiring in May 2022. A Linwood native who was a renowned children's heart surgeon has died, according to a memorial fundraiser. Dr. Louis Capecci died at 40 years old on Monday, Mar. 11, 2024, his obituary said. The cause of his death was not mentioned. Dr. Capecci was the first pediatric heart surgeon in the history of Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children.
