Large Scale Search For Missing Swimmer Called Off In Cape May Cape May police have ended a large-scale search for a reported swimmer in distress after determining there is no evidence a missing person case exists. On Thursday, Sept. 4, around 8 a.m., Cape May firefighters were dispatched to Madison Avenue beach for a report of a person in the water who had not surfaced, according to the Cape May Police Department. Woman Dies, 13-Year-Old Girl Rescued In Southampton Boating Accident A 65-year-old woman died after she and a 13-year-old girl fell off a tube being pulled by a boat in Southampton, police said. The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, at Red Cedar Point near Hubbard County Park, the Southampton Town Police Department said. The young girl was pulled back onto the boat, but the older woman was unable to get back into the boat, possibly may have suffered a medical condition and became unconscious, police said.
