Lacerations Trigger Major Recall Of Power Tools Nearly 63,000 cordless grease guns and hoses are being recalled after reports of injuries linked to the tools. Makita issued the recall for about 62,927 Professional Cordless Grease Guns and hoses, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced on Thursday, Sept. 4. The agency warned that the hoses can develop holes that spray grease during use, creating a laceration hazard. The fight was between two groups and primarily involved juveniles, Chery Hill police said. No one involved was a Cherry Hill resident, police said. Video footage shows the fight happening near AAO and Champs stores on Level 1 of the mall. Two people sustained minor lacerations and were treated at a local hospital, police said. Detectives are currently speaking with persons of interest as part of the investigation, police said.

Woman Attacked By Dog At Elmont Home A woman is recovering after being attacked by a dog on Long Island. The incident occurred just before 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, in Elmont. Nassau County Police officers responding to the Newburgh Street residence found the 81-year-old had suffered multiple lacerations to various parts of her body.  The victim was transported to a local area hospital for evaluation and treatment of her injuries. She is currently listed in stable condition.  The Nassau County Emergency Service Unit (ESU) responded and secured the animals. The investigation is ongoing.

Man Busted After Assault At Softball Game: Hackettstown PD A man was arrested and charged with assault after an altercation at a softball game on Thursday, Aug. 15, authorities said.  At 8:49 p.m., an off-duty officer witnessed the assault at Tannery Field, Hackettstown police said in a release. During the game, an altercation broke out and Jeffrey Binns struck the victim in the face with a closed fist, causing a laceration above his left eye, police said Binns was charged with simple assault, police said.
