A Cape May County corrections officer was convicted of sexually assaulting a girl younger than 13 years old, authorities said. A jury found 34-year-old Jonathan Perez guilty on four charges on Friday, Apr. 12, Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey Sutherland said in a news release. A teenage suspect involved in a robbery was arrested with a loaded handgun and drugs, authorities said. At 1:57 a.m. Saturday, Atlantic City police responded to the Montpelier and Arctic Avenues about a reported assault, police said. Fairfield County Man Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash
A Fairfield County man was killed in an overnight crash on Route 8 in New Haven County. It happened just before 11 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, in Derby, according to state police. Jonathan Perez, age 36, of Bridgeport, was traveling northbound at the Exit 18 off-ramp when his 2021 Hyundai Sonata left the roadway at a high rate of speed and struck a tree, said police.
