Toms River Man Found Dead In Water: Prosecutor The body of a Toms River man reported missing was found in a body of water on Thursday, March 28, authorities said. John Applegate, also known as “Bubby," was found in an area of water between Lakehurst Road and Route 37, after having been missing since Friday, March 24, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Seen HIM? Jersey Shore Man Reported Missing Authorities seek the public's help finding John Applegate, also known as “Bubby.” Applegate. He was last seen on Thursday, March 23, in Toms River between Community Medical Center and the Garden State Parkway, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office. Applegate may have traveled to Johnson’s/ Fischer’s pits in Berkeley Township, the prosecutor said. Applegate was last seen wearing a black Jersey, light-colored jeans, and white shoes.
