A young man from Monroe County has been identified as the victim of a fiery multi-vehicle crash that shut down Interstate 81 in Lebanon County for nearly 10 hours on Thursday, Nov. 14, officials confirmed the following afternoon. A massive house fire raged for hours in Jefferson Township as firefighters battled the blaze on Tuesday night, authorities say. First responders were called to a home on Vassar Road in Newfoundland just after 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 20 for a reported structure fire, county officials said. A Morris County police officer was struck by a drunken driver while assisting at the scene of a crash overnight, his department said. Jefferson Township Police Officer Tyler LaMantia was sitting in his marked patrol vehicle on Route 15 near Berkshire Valley Road when he was struck from behind by David Prontnicki, 45, of Budd Lake, around 3:05 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, Jefferson police Capt.
