One of two drivers involved in a deadly hit-and-run crash in Fauquier County last week has been identified and apprehended, according to Virginia State Police. On Wednesday, Nov. 13, state police investigators located and arrested Catlett resident Dennis Dunning, 54, who was found at his home in the 8000 block of Burwell Road in Fauquier, where he was taken into custody without incident. A man with a history of drinking and getting behind the wheel in Maryland is going to have 15 years to reconsider his actions before he's released from prison. A man asleep behind the wheel of a parked car in Fairfield County on Halloween morning was allegedly drunk when he attempted to back away from officers attempting to interview him, police said. Shortly after 2 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31, officers from the Darien Police Department responded to a Dubois Street residence, where there were reports of a suspicious car parked in the driveway with the lights on. Three Charged In East Fishkill Sobriety Checkpoint
A joint police checkpoint conducted by several Dutchess law enforcement agencies led to the arrest of several area residents who were busted driving with drugs or while impaired over the weekend. Members of the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, East Fishkill Police Department and New York State Police troopers conducted the joint sobriety checkpoint, which led to six arrests, three of which were for impaired driving. The checkpoint was held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10 on Route 52 in East Fishkill. Police said that during the checkpoint, 1,790 vehicles drove through the area. …
