The State Fair Meadowlands, one of New Jersey’s biggest summer events, is taking a two-year hiatus to make way for soccer.
The fair, held at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, will not return until Summer 2027, organizers announced.
The decision comes at the request of MetLife Stadium, which is hosting nine FIFA Club World Cup matches this summer, including the semifinals and final, and eight FIFA World Cup games in 2026, including the World Cup final.

Jersey Shore's Oceanfest Returns After 2-Year COVID Hiatus
Oceanfest is back, baby.
The day-long Fourth of July event is making its big return this summer after a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19, according to its website.
With a steady decline in New Jersey's coronavirus cases, "it is the perfect time to bring Oceanfest back,” Co-chair Esther Cohen told NJ Advance Media.
Oceanfest is held along the Long Branch boardwalk from Pier Village to Seven Presidents’ Park.
