Officers were called around 1:10 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 4, to the intersection of Clinton Avenue and Ten Broeck Street for reports of a serious injury collision, according to Albany police. When officers arrived, they found the man lying in the roadway with severe injuries. According to Sgt. Stanley Zajac of the Meriden Police, the bicyclists were riding north in the northbound lane of Cook Avenue, which is marked as a shared bicycle lane. At approximately 3:45 p.m., a 44-year-old man was traveling east on Reese Place on an electric bike, according to Nassau County Police. When he was at the intersection of Merritts Road, he and a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee collided. The man suffered severe trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene.
