Man Nabbed For Two Robberies, Violating Stay-Away Order In Riverhead, Police Say
A Long Island man was arrested for allegedly violating a protective stay-away order, in addition to two robbery crimes.
Stanley Battle, age 37, undomiciled, was arrested in Suffolk County by the Riverhead Police after they responded to a 911 call for help in Peconic Crossing.
Battle fled the area before police arrived. Riverhead town police began an investigation, and around 8:20 a.m. spotted him on foot in the area of Grangebel Park, police said.

Long Island Man Injures Officer While Being Booked On Domestic Violence Charge, Police Say
A Long Island man was arrested for allegedly attacking a police officer following his arrest for domestic violence.
Kenneth Lewis, age 36, of Hempstead, was arrested around 7:20 a.m., Sunday, July 18, while being processed for a domestic incident in Baldwin, said the Nassau County Police.
According to detectives, Lewis became physically combative with the officers. As a result, one of the officers received injuries to his left wrist.
The officer was transported by a Nassau County Police Ambulance to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.

A missing 6-month-old infant girl from Long Island has been found safe in another state, after allegedly being taken by her mother, officials announced.
Southampton Town Police spent hours searching for the baby girl, of Hampton Bays, who has been missing since Tuesday, July 12, said Lt. Susan Ralph.
The baby was reported missing by her father on Thursday, July 15, who said he believed the baby was taken by her mother, Sarah Payne, of Shelter Island, and could be in Wilmington, Delaware, Ralph said.

Long Island Man Stabs Brother, Sets House On Fire, Police Say
A Long Island man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his brother and then setting the house on fire.
Victor Brown, of Coram, was arrested on Friday, July 9 by Suffolk County Police following the incident which took place around 8 p.m..
According to detectives, Brown, age 29, stabbed his brother with a large knife and then set the home, located at 139 Sequoia Lane in Coram, on fire.
The brother then called 911 to tell police he had been stabbed, police said.
