Stony Point Man Points Shotgun At Taxi Driver After Refusing To Pay Fare, Police Say A 30-year-old man was arrested for pointing a shotgun at a taxi driver after refusing to pay for his ride. Christopher Bender, of Stony Point, was arrested around 3 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, after police responded to a home for a report of a disorderly, intoxicated man having a fight with a cabbie, said Stony Point Police Lt. Poughkeepsie State Trooper Earns EMS Educator Of Excellence Of Year Award A state police trooper recently was honored by the Dutchess County Emergency Medical Services Council for specialized training.The Dutchess County EMS Council presented Trooper Stephanie Higgins of the state police's  Poughkeepsie barracks with the EMS Educator of Excellence of the Year award. The EMS Council award was for Higgins' work training EMS personnel to recognize and safely treat patients under the influence of controlled substances.

Fairfield County Man Charged With Distributing Counterfeit Drugs A Fairfield County man was arrested and charged on a federal criminal complaint related to distributing counterfeit drugs. Kamil Golebiowski, 25, of Shelton, was arrested Tuesday as part of an ongoing statewide initiative targeting narcotics dealers who distribute heroin, fentanyl or opioids that cause death or serious injury to users, said John H.
