Asbury Park Artist With 'Light-Filled Soul' Critically Stabbed On Labor Day: Fundraiser An Asbury Park photographer was critically injured when she was stabbed while walking with a friend on Labor Day, according to a fundraising campaign. A GoFundMe page said Andrea Laign was the victim of the afternoon Asbury Avenue stabbing on Monday, Sept. 2. The fundraiser called her a "beloved member of our creative family" in the city. The GoFundMe had raised more than $4,200 from at least 59 donations as of Thursday, Sept. 5. Mike McNamara, Popular Jersey City Photographer, Dad Dies Mike McNamara, an institution in the Jersey City arts community, died on Friday, Feb. 16, due to a complication after surgery, according to a fundraiser set up to support his family. A photographer, McNamara dedicated his time to the Brunswick Community Garden in Jersey City.  "He was an amazing photographer, a great organizer of so many events that brought us all together, a father, a husband, and much more," Beth Achenbach, a Jersey City artist said on Facebook.  "I'm glad to have known him." After Vandalism, Springfield Adding Second BLM Mural After the first one was defaced three times, Springfield is getting a new, second Black Lives Matter mural. The new mural is going up Saturday, Oct. 10, on a wall at 232 Worthington St. starting at 9 a.m. The street mural in front of City Hall on Court Street has been defaced three times since it was first painted on Sept. 12. Each time, the mural has been restored.
