Couple From Ulster County Nabbed With 10 Pounds Of Pot In Suitcase, Police Say
A couple from the region were busted with a gun and 10 pounds of marijuana in a suitcase during a routine traffic stop by New York State Police. The bust took place around 1:30 a.m, Saturday, Jan. 1, when state troopers stopped a 2010 Nissan Altima on North Front Street in Kingston for a traffic law violation, said Trooper Steven Nevel. Troopers had the driver of the vehicle, identified as Jeannie M. An ex-con who led police on a wild chase into oncoming Route 46 traffic before crashing and trying to run told his pursuers that he’d swallowed several bags of heroin and didn’t want to die, authorities said. Fugitive Caught Inside Stamford Home
Stamford Police nabbed an escapee from a Department of Corrections halfway house after receiving a tip of where he was hiding out. Christopher J. Williams was located inside a home on Myano Lane on Wednesday after receiving the information that was where he was hiding, said Stamford Police Lt. Michael Noto.
