Fugitive Busted With Drugs After Dramatic Manhunt In Stafford County, Sheriff Says
A wanted man who ran from deputies was captured in Virginia after an hours-long manhunt — and now he's facing even more charges.
Christopher Stanley, 41, of Bealeton, was spotted by a Fauquier County Sheriff’s deputy on Thursday, July 10 around 10:22 a.m. in the Country Wood Estates Subdivision, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.
Stanley was wanted out of Culpeper County for extortion, using threatening messages, and contempt of court, authorities said.
But when Stanley saw the deputy, he took off on foot, kicking off a manhunt in the neighborhood.

'Wild Go-Getter:' 25-Year-Old Killed In Fauquier County Crash
Virginia State Police have identified the victim of a Fauquier County crash this week as a 25-year-old man.
Chandler P. Povlsen, of Bealeton, was was heading south on Balls Mill Road near Rockdale Lane in Midland, in a 1994 Ford Ranger, when he crossed over the double solid yellow centerline around 10:10 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, VSP said.
Povlsen ran off the left side of the roadway, and collided with several trees. He was taken to INOVA Fairfax Hospital, where he later died, police said.
Povlsen was not wearing a seatbelt, according to police.

Fiery Head-On Culpeper Crash Kills One, Injures More Including Infant
Police have released details in a weekend, head-on crash in Culpeper that left one person dead and others seriously injured.
A 1993 Ford Ranger heading north on Route 15 crossed over the cener line and struck a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu head-on around 8 p.m. Saturday, July 19, Virginia State Police said.
The Ford caught fire and its driver, David W. McDaniel, Jr. 45, of Orange, died at the scene near Madison Road, police said.
A passenger in the Ford, a 38-year-old woman from Remington was taken to UVA Medical Center for treatment of serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Teen Suffers Skull Fracture In Virginia ATV Crash, Support Surges For Family
Support was surging for the family of a Virginia high schooler who suffered a brain bleed and fractured skull in an ATV crash earlier this month.
More than $3,500 had been raised on a GoFundMe launched for the family of Liberty High School (Bealeton) senior Emily, who was flown from Culpeper Hospital to Fairfax Hospital following the April 17 crash, the campaign says.
In addition to the brain bleed and skull fracture, Emily also suffered swelling, brain bruising, pneumocephalus, and more, according to the GoFundMe.
