Search For Missing Swimmer Turns To Recovery Mission: Ocean City PD
A 20-year-old who went boogie boarding in Ocean City on Monday, May 18 remains missing, authorities said. The search for the missing swimmer has transitioned to a recovery mission, the Ocean City Police Department said. Police, firefighters and beach patrol will be actively working in the recovery mission and continue to request additional assets as necessary to assist in that effort, law enforcement said. Body Of 31-Year-Old Swimmer Washes Up At Seaside Park
A body washed up along the shore at Seaside Park on Wednesday morning, Sept. 6, authorities said. The body of Wilmer Chavez, 31, of Howell, was recovered off the G Street beach, Seaside Park police said. Chavez was among a group of swimmers who were struggling in the ocean around 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 3 off Stockton Avenue. Seaside Park lifeguards and emergency workers responded to six calls over the Labor Day weekend involving 14 total swimmers in distress, Seaside Park police said. : Boy Unresponsive After Ocean City Lifeguards Pull 3 From Rip Current
One of three children was hospitalized in serious condition after being rescued by lifeguards from a rip current in Ocean City Saturday, May 21, NJ Advance Media reports The 12-year-old Mays Landing boy was "breathing on his own but unresponsive," when he and the two other children from Hammonton were saved by beach patron off 10th Street around noon, the outlet said citing local officials. 5 Rescued From NJ Beach
Five people were rescued from the waters of a New Jersey beach on Saturday night. Two people were hospitalized and three refused treatment after being pulled from the waters of Beach C at Sandy Hook around 5:30 p.m., NJ Advance Media reports. Lifeguards are done working for the season and no swimming is allowed, officials said. Sea Bright Fire and Rescue, Sea Bright Ocean Rescue and Sandy Hook lifeguards responded to the scene. The condition of those hospitalized was not known.
