Joint Base Andrews was placed into a lockdown after there was reportedly a suspect roaming the area on Thursday afternoon with an AR-15-style rifle with no orange tip, officials said. At 2:50 p.m. on Thursday, March 30, an alert was issued advising that an armed person had been reported near base housing, prompting officials to initiate the base’s lockdown procedures.
