A dumpster full of hay and other yard debris almost caused the destruction of a barn in Northern Westchester after it went up in flames. The incident happened on Tuesday, Aug. 15 just before noon, when firefighters from the Pound Ridge Volunteer Fire Department responded to a dumpster fire that had ignited close to a barn in the town, department members said on Saturday, Aug. 19. Family Of Goats Ravaged By Fast-Moving Maryland Barn Fire
Nearly two dozen goats perished in a massive blaze that burned a Maryland barn to the ground, the Office of the State Fire Marshal announced. In Garrett County, shortly before 3:15 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12, first responders from the Gorman Volunteer Fire Department were called to a Nazelrod Road home in Oakland when a neighbor reported a barn that was up in flames. Saddle River Barn Fire Poses Challenges
UPDATE: A trio of firefighters were treated for heat exhaustion during a "difficult" weekend barn fire in Saddle River, responders said. The two-alarm, 6:30 p.m. Sunday blaze on Old Farms Road posed an "additional hazard of ammunition exploding due to the heat of the flames," according to Waldwick firefighters, who were among the mutual aid responders.
