14-Year-Old Charged In Fatal Shooting Of Jersey City Teen: Prosecutors
A 14-year-old boy in Jersey City was arrested and charged for his involvement in the fatal shooting of Tyshawn Smith, a 15-year-old Jersey City resident on Friday, June 9, authorities said. The teenager was charged as a juvenile with aggravated manslaughter and multiple weapons charges, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. He was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office in Secaucus, Suarez said. NJ Amazon Driver's Killer Gets 25 Years Behind Bars: Prosecutor
A 28-year-old Plainfield man was sentenced to 25 years in prison for the fatal shooting of an Amazon driver in 2021. Quahif Lane's sentence for aggravated manslaughter was handed down on Friday, May 26, by Union County Superior Court Judge Stacy Boretz, Union County Prosecutor William Daniel said. In September 2021, Plainfield Police responded to the 200 block of Garfield Ave and found Jamar Harris, a 36-year-old Newark resident, suffering from a gunshot wound, Daniel said. Harris was pronounced dead at the scene, Daniel said.

Hotel Homicide: Bergen County Man Gets 25 Years Behind Bars
A 32-year-old Bergenfield man was sentenced to 25 years in state prison for stabbing a man at a hotel in Elizabeth in 2022. The sentence for aggravated manslaughter was handed down to Javan Johnson on Thursday, May 25 by Judge Thomas Isenhour, Union County Prosecutor William Daniel said. In March 2022, Elizabeth Police responded to the Country Inn and Suites and found Marlon Pantin critically injured from being stabbed, Daniel said. The man was transported to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Daniel said.

Three men, including a 17-year-old, were sentenced to several years in prison for their roles in the fatal shooting of a 30-year-old Elizabeth man in 2021, Union County Prosecutor William Daniel said. Newark Man Convicted In Fatal Stabbing
A 57-year-old Newark man was convicted of aggravated manslaughter for fatally stabbing another man in July 2020. Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens announced the jury's conviction of Lance Boone on Friday, March 31. Boone was panhandling on Market Street and McCarter Highway when he got into an altercation with Rashon Williams, a 43-year-old Newark resident, who was also panhandling in the area, Stephens said. Boone then used a kitchen knife to fatally stab Williams in the heart, Stephens said. Boone faces up to 30 years in New Jersey State Prison when he is sentenced in June.
