6 Tornadoes Confirmed Across Western PA After Severe Storms (Update) Six tornadoes have now been confirmed across Western Pennsylvania following the severe thunderstorms that swept through the region on Saturday, June 6, according to a National Weather Service damage survey released Monday night. Meteorologists said all six tornadoes developed as rotating mesovortices embedded within a larger squall line. Additional areas of damage were caused by powerful straight-line winds.
