Spirit Halloween released its 2025 costume trends on Friday, Sept. 19. The Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey-based company is expected to open more than 1,500 temporary stores nationwide.
The retailer is known for transforming empty storefronts and strip malls into destinations for costumes, spooky decorations, and many other Halloween staples.

Meet Idina Menzel In Northvale
Idina Menzel is keeping her new book all in the family.
Menzel, who starred in "Frozen" and won a Tony Award for "Wicked" is signing copies of her book "Proud Mouse", which she co-wrote with her sister, Cara Mentzel, on Tuesday, Sept. 12 at 4 p.m. at Books and Greetings in Northvale.
In "Proud Mouse", Cara, a mouse, attends her first day of school and finds she is constantly compared to her talented sister Dee, forcing Cara to find the confidence to be able to stand on her own two feet, according to a synopsis. The book is a sequel to "Loud Mouse," which was also written by the sisters.

Peter Scolari, Emmy-Winning Actor From Westchester Dies At 66
Emmy-winning actor Peter Scolari, a New York native known for his co-starring role with Tom Hanks in the ABC comedy “Bosom Buddies,” died at the age of 66 following a two-year battle with cancer.
A Westchester County native, Scolari, from New Rochelle, died on Friday, Oct. 22, his manager, Ellen Lupin Sanitsky announced.
The veteran actor got his big break on “Bosom Buddies” but also appeared in multiple films, tv series, including famed parts in “Newhart,” “Murphy Brown,” “The Good Fight,” and won an Emmy for his portrayal of Ted Horvath on "Girls" in 2016.
