Newly Renovated I-87 Service Area In Sloatsburg Reopened
The New York State Thruway Authority announced the reopening of a newly renovated service area in Hudson Valley. The service area in Rockland County in Sloatsburg is on I-87 northbound between Exit 15A and Exit 16. According to the State Thruway Authority, it is the 19th location overall to open and the first of four to undergo extensive renovations as part of the $450 million private investment to redevelop and modernize all 27 service areas. Fugitive Falls From Fence After Failing To Fend Off Deputies In Stafford, Sheriff Says
A wanted man put police through their paces before a foot chase ended with him in a heap on the ground outside a Panda Express location in Stafford. Derrick Eady, 22, is behind bars after a failed attempt at evading his arrest on Thursday night, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office. Some popular, prominent restaurants are coming to New York State Thruway rest stops as part of a multi-million project to redevelop more than two dozen service stations. Federal labor officials agree with Connecticut McDonald’s employees who say they were fired for attempting to organize a union. Representing the workers, Service Employees International Union Local 32BJ filed charges with the state against the international fast-food company, according to the CT Post.
