9 Students, 1 Adult Injured In Crawford School Bus Crash Nine students and an adult were injured during a two-vehicle crash involving a school bus in the region. The crash occurred in Orange County around 9 a.m., Monday, Oct. 28, at the intersection of Route 52 and Route 17 in the town of Crawford. According to Crawford Police Chief Dominick Blasko, a 2021 Dodge truck was traveling eastbound in the eastbound lane of Route 52 when it collided with a 2024 First Student school bus.   The First Student Bus was transporting 43 Pine Bush students to Edward J Russell Elementary School when the collision took place, Blasko said. 30 Catalytic Converters Stolen From East Hartford School Buses More than 30 catalytic converters were stolen from school buses from two businesses in East Hartford. The converters were stolen between Friday, Jan. 20, and Monday, Jan. 23 from First Student at 68 Alna Lane and Autumn Transportation at 52 Oakland Ave. in East Hartford. According to East Hartford Police Officer Marc Caruso, the two business reported the thefts of the  catalytic converters from their lots. There were more than 30 catalytic converter thefts between the two businesses. School officials did not respond to say if transportation of students to area schools was impacted.&…

Two Injured Including Student In Fairfield County School Bus Crash, Police Say A Fairfield County student and a school bus driver were hospitalized after the driver struck a utility pole. The crash took place around 3 p.m., Monday, Feb. 28 on Mill Plain Road in Fairfield. When officers arrived on the scene they found a small First Student school bus from Tomlinson Middle School, had struck a utility pole, said Sgt. Michael Stahl, of the Fairfield Police.  The driver of the bus sustained non-life-threatening injuries and a student complaining of stomach pain were both transported to an area hospital, Stahl said.
