A former New York state corrections officer was sentenced to 15 years in prison for his role in the brutal beating death of inmate Robert Brooks. Christopher Walrath, a former officer at Marcy Correctional Facility in Oneida County, learned his fate Monday, Aug. 4, after pleading guilty in May to first-degree manslaughter.
