A 57-year-old Butler resident was driving while intoxicated when he drove head-on into a police car in Morris County on Friday, July 26, sending the officer and his own passenger to the hospital, authorities said. Police seized 13 pounds of pot during a speed enforcement stop on Route 210 in Maryland earlier this week, they said. A Connecticut teenager was charged after allegedly being caught driving 110 mph in a red Chevrolet Camaro. Hartford County resident Colin Coyle, age 18, of Unionville, was arrested on Saturday, Aug. 5 while heading east on Mountain Road. Members of the West Hartford Police Department were conducting speed enforcement on Albany Avenue when Coyle when flying by in his Camaro in a 40 mph zone, said the West Hartford Police. A high-intensity speed enforcement detail along Route 10 involving unmarked cars and a helicopter clocked drivers going between 110 and 170 miles an hour, authorities in Anne Arundel County said. Utilizing marked and unmarked cars for the two-and-a-half-hour detail, officers made 19 traffic stops and issued 24 citations and 5 warnings for egregious speed violations midday June 24, county police said. State Police Announce Results Of Targeted Speed Enforcement Detail In Westchester
New York State Police shared the results of a targeted speed enforcement detail in Westchester County. Troopers conducted the operation on the Sprain Brook Parkway in Greenburgh on Tuesday, Dec. 14. During the enforcement period, 38 tickets were issued, including 25 for speed-related offenses, police said. Police said speeding is a contributing factor in nearly one-third of all fatal crashes in the state.

Dozens of tickets were dished out by New York State Police troopers during a special speed enforcement detail on I-684 in Westchester and Putnam counties this week.
