Student Evaluated After Blaze At Culinary Institute Of America In Hyde Park (Update) Fire officials have released new details about the small fire that prompted an evacuation at the Culinary Institute of America’s Dutchess County campus.  According to the Roosevelt Fire District, crews were dispatched just before 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 15, to Metz Hall after an automatic fire alarm reported smoke inside the building on the institute's Hyde Park campus, as Daily Voice previously reported.  Once they got to the scene, firefighters found flames coming from a dryer vent on the second floor, and a 10-75 alarm was transmitted to bring in additional resources.&nb…

School Bus Crash Leaves 2 Injured, Several Cars Damaged In Boston A school bus hit several cars and one pedestrian near an elementary school in Boston’s Hyde Park neighborhood on Thursday morning, Dec. 14. Police arrived at the scene of the crash near Henry Grew Elementary School at 40 Gordon Ave. shortly after 8 a.m. Video from the scene shows an SUV with its back wheels lifted in the air while stuck between a utility pole and another car. Body Of Missing Man Pulled From Boston River Days After Search Began: Police A days-long river search for a missing man ended on Wednesday, Aug. 30, when police found his body.  The body, believed to be a 60-year-old man, was found in the Neponset River in the Boston neighborhood of Hyde Park around 1:10 p.m., according to the Massachusetts State Police.  The search for the man, who police believed lived in a nearby homeless encampment, began on Monday. He was 18. Born in Newton, Porzuelo grew up in Andover Township, his obituary says. Porzuelo was months away from finishing his senior year at Newton High School. The hiker, a man in his 50s from Hyde Park, was rescued around 7:30 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 10, in Dutchess County while hiking at the Taconic Hereford Multiple Use Area in Pleasant Valley, said the state Department of Environmental Conservation.
