Groceries Harder To Afford For Nearly Half Of Americans Than In 2024: Poll
Nearly half of Americans say groceries are harder to afford than a year ago, according to a new survey. The Harris/Axios Vibes poll found that 47% of Americans believe groceries are more difficult to afford than they were in September 2024. The findings were released on Thursday, Oct. 2. More than half (54%) of independents and 50% of Democrats said grocery costs are harder to bear, while about a third (34%) of Republicans agreed with them. Gen Z is the age group least comfortable returning to the office in the current state of the pandemic, according to a new poll. The Harris Poll separated respondents into categories Gen Z (ages 18 to 24), Millenials (ages 25 to 40), Gen X (ages 41 to 56) and Baby Boomers and older (ages 57 and older). The results found that 33 percent of Gen Z respondents said they would be uncomfortable returning to the office. Wegmans Food Markets, a family owned supermarket chain with 95 stores in the Northeast and mid-Atlantic region, was ranked second nationwide for corporate reputation among the 100 most visible companies, according to the 2018 Harris Poll Reputation Quotient® study.
