A construction project is expected to cause delays for over two months in a busy business district in Westchester County. Beginning on Monday, Jan. 3, a gas main replacement project will begin in the Rye Central Business District, which will include Purchase Street between Purdy and Locust Avenues, according to the City of Rye Police Department. A busy bridge on the Hutchinson River Parkway in Westchester will be closed for nearly a year as the county and state continue rehabilitating the East Lincoln Avenue Bridge. There will be double lane closures for several days on the Taconic State Parkway for several days. The New York State Department of Transportation announced that daily between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. from Wednesday, Dec. 18 through Friday, Dec. 20, there will be two southbound lanes closed on the parkway in Yorktown. Lane closures have been scheduled near the new Tappan Zee Bridge as contracting crews continue work overnight. Tappan Zee Constructors (TZC) is scheduled to re-stripe the westbound lanes near the new bridge beginning on Friday night, Jan. 19 requiring lane closures on I-87 and I-287.
