19: Westchester School District Announces Two-Day Test Results Of 500 Students, Staffers
A Westchester school district is earning top marks in its latest round of COVID-19 testing. On Tuesday, Oct. 19, the Irvington Union Free School District released the results of more than 500 students and staff members who were tested for COVID-19 late last week, all of which were negative for the virus. Moving forward, beginning on Thursday, Oct. 21, the district will begin its first round of surveillance testing, which will include the testing of 20 percent of those who consented to the program. Hundreds of members of the Massachusetts National Guard have been activated to help support the testing of Kindergarten through 12th-grade students across the Commonwealth. Gov. Charlie Baker issued an order on Tuesday, Oct. 12 enlisting up to 450 members of the state’s National Guard to help support two missions.
