NJ Dad, Canadian Pilot ID’d After Helicopter Crash In Pennsylvania A New Jersey father and a Canadian pilot have been identified as the two men killed in a helicopter crash in Pennsylvania, Carbon County Coroner Mark K. Smith announced on Saturday, Sept. 13. The victims were 52-year-old Jeffrey Patmore of Terrace, British Columbia, and 40-year-old Michael S. Higgins of Haddon Township, New Jersey, Smith said. The crash happened around 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, in a wooded area of Penn Forest Township near the 300 block of Maury Road by Penn’s Peak concert hall in Jim Thorpe, the coroner confirmed. Storm Downs Power Lines, Closes Roads In Lehigh, Northampton Counties (Developing) Area police reported scattered outages as wind and rain pulled down power lines. Lower Saucon Township police reported that Lower Saucon Road was closed between Woodland Road and Woodland Hills Court due to a tree down on power wires. Upper Saucon Township police reported that Oakhurst Drive was closed between Stonesthrow Road and Old Bethlehem Pike due to utility lines across the roadway. The incidents were reported late morning on Friday, Aug. 9. Meanwhile, due to the severe weather, the Doylestown Township Administrative Offices closed at 2:30 p.m.

The lines fell in the area of Broadway and Livingston Street outside the Chase Bank shortly before noon. Norwood firefighters were joined by their colleagues from Closter, Demarest, Harrington Park, Haworth and Northvale, as well as borough police and EMS and the Closter Volunteer Ambulance and Rescue Corps. The 2:30 p.m. incident limited access to AutoSport, among other local businesses, authorities said.
