A trio of high-end shoplifters who swiped nearly $18,000 worth of jackets and parkas from a Paramus Ski Barn earlier this month were captured after hitting the same store exactly a week later, authorities said. Shoppers and motorists were among those who looked on as the members of the shoplifting crew bolted from the Route 17 store with $12,000 worth of winter clothing around noon on Thanksgiving Eve, Paramus Deputy Police Chief Robert Guidetti said. Arrest Made In Pepper-Spray, Stun Gun Ski Barn Robbery In Wayne
Detectives from Wayne arrested one of three robbers who pepper-sprayed and tried to zap a Ski Barn employee with a stun gun, authorities said. The victim had confronted Shavani C. Robinson, 34, of Newark and two accomplices -- a man and a woman -- as they tried to flee the Route 23 store with more than $1,000 worth of stolen goods late last year, Detective Capt. Dan Daly said. Medical Episode Sends Truck Off Route 17
A delivery truck barreled off Route 17 in Paramus when its driver had a medical emergency, responders said. The Ski Barn truck ended up in a water detention area on the southbound highway just past the Garden State Parkway around 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 17. The condition of the hospitalized driver couldn't immediately be determined. Belfi's Towing removed the truck as rubberneckers thickened the already-busy highway. Boyd A.
