Box Truck Spins, Lands On Route 287 At State Line A box truck ended up on the median on Route 287, clogging post-Labor Day traffic at the state line, authorities said. No injuries were reported in the mishap in Mahwah shortly before 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6. Three men were in the truck, which apparently was carrying exercise equipment for a Brooklyn-based freight company when it spun around in the rain and hit the divider. Man Charged In Fairfield County Larceny Of Exercise Equipment Worth Over $68,000, Police Say A 61-year-old man was charged after police in Fairfield County said he was involved in a larceny of exercise equipment worth more than $68,000. Police received a report on Nov. 24, 2020, from an individual who said they paid $68,562.57 for exercise equipment and never received it, according to the New Canaan Police Department.  The victim said they made multiple attempts to get the equipment delivered, authorities said.  Investigators determined that Kevin Rourke, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, was involved in the larceny, police said.  Authorities said Rourke surrendered himse…

This Is Sears' Last Weekend Ever In Paramus Park Mall PARAMUS, N.J. -- Saturday will be Sears' final day before shuttering at the Paramus Park Mall more than four decades after opening. There is a major sale on exercise equipment and home appliances, its website says. The bottom store will be replaced by a Stew Leonard's supermarket and the top a 12-screen movie theater. The Sears store opened in August 1974, five months after the mall did.
