A Jersey Shore lifeguard impaled by a beach umbrella stake on Wednesday, June 25 is set to be released from the hospital, officials confirmed. Joe Bongiovanni, who runs beach operations in Asbury Park, said the 19-year-old Robbinsville resident had surgery to remove the piece of umbrella from her arm and is expected to be out of action for 6 to 8 weeks. UPDATE: With help from a sprinkler system and colleagues from other towns, Ridgefield Park firefighters doused a warehouse blaze Wednesday night. Sandy Hook Elementary School students were sent home Friday morning after the school received a bomb threat on the sixth anniversary of a mass shooting that left 20 first-graders and six educators dead.
