Plainfield Teacher, Soccer Coach Joseph Colodne Dies Suddenly, 46
Multiple New Jersey school and soccer communities are mourning the sudden loss of Joseph “Joe” Colodne, a longtime educator and coach known for his passion, mentorship, and heart.
Colodne, of Fanwood, died unexpectedly Wednesday, June 18, loved ones announced. He was a history teacher at Plainfield High School and an assistant women’s soccer coach at Kean University.
“Joe was so many things,” said Kean women’s soccer head coach Brian Doherty. “A great coach, great mentor, great friend and more than that, just a great person.”

Services Set For NJ Firefighter Marques Hudson Killed In Line of Duty
Marques Hudson, the Plainfield firefighter killed on Friday, Jan. 26 battling a house fire, will be laid to rest on Saturday, Feb. 3.
Services were announced by Buckland Funeral Home in Somerset for Hudson, the 32-year-old Piscataway resident and father of three. Viewings will be held on Friday, Feb 2 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Plainfield High School and Saturday, Feb. 3 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the high school, according to his obituary.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Feb. 3 at 11 a.m. at the high school, his obituary reads.

Second Teen Dies A Week After Violent CT Crash Kills 15-Year-Old Girl
A second Connecticut teen has died from injuries suffered in a crash that also killed a 15-year-old girl last month.
The crash took place around 4:40 a.m. Sunday, June 25 in Windham County on Allen Hill Road near Route 205 in the small town of Brooklyn.
On Thursday, July 6, Connecticut State Police confirmed that a second passenger, 17-year-old Bryce Burditt, who attended Plainfield High School had died from his injuries.
