ID Released For Man Shot, Killed In Western Mass The identity has been released of the person who died after a shooting in the region. Luis Vazquez, age 28, of Springfield, was shot on Saturday, Aug. 21, on Center Street in Chicopee, said the DA's Office. The Chicopee Police Department responded to the area and found shell casings but could not find anyone who had been injured. At the same time, Vazquez arrived by private transportation to Baystate Medical Center’s Emergency Room and appeared to be suffering from a gunshot wound. Arrangements Set For Beloved Fair Lawn Police Officer Edward Egan Funeral arrangements have been set for popular Fair Lawn patrolman Edward Egan, who died Monday at his home. Visitation is scheduled from 2 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15 at the Van Riper-Ellis-Broadway Baptist Church in Fair Lawn. A funeral service will begin at 7 p.m. at the church. Cremation will be private.  Egan, who had been with the borough police department 27 years, was battling cancer and had heart problems, colleagues said.
