A new Target store is coming to North Jersey. Levin Management Corporation announced the big box retailer has signed a lease to open a 211,500-square-foot store at West Orange Plaza in West Orange (Essex County). The new store will expand the shopping center, anchored by a Whole Foods from 296,500 to 311,500 square feet, as part of a redevelopment project. Target will be taking over a spot formally occupied by a K-Mart. Redevelopment of the 32-acre Essex County property will take place in stages. ShopRite Opens In Shuttered Elmwood Park K-Mart
Attention, K-Mart shoppers in Bergen County. You have a new place to shop. ShopRite celebrated its grand opening at 180 Broadway in Elmwood Park on Friday, Nov. 17. The location is the site of a former K-Mart, which shuttered in 2018 and was completely rebuilt by ShopRite. The 60,000 square foot store is run by Inserra Supermarkets and features a bakery, prepared food, a butcher, and seafood, deli and floral departments.

Old NJ ShopRite Gets New Digs With Move Into Shuttered K-Mart Store
A ShopRite grocery store will be replacing one of New Jersey's many shuttered K-Mart stores, 42Freeway.com reports. Laurel Hill's ShopRite will be moving out of its Blackwood-Clementon Road location and into the vacant building less than a mile away in Cherrywood Plaza, the outlet says citing the owners, Zallie-Somerset. The Laurel Hill store opened as Shop 'N Bag in June 1973, and that K-Mart store closed in 2017. Dollar Tree is closing at least 390 Family Dollar stores and will rebrand 200 others, the company announced in releasing its fiscal fourth-quarter earnings this week. Dollar Tree CEO Gary Philbin announced the plans on Wednesday, which will include renovating some locations to sell alcohol and $1 Dollar Tree merchandise sections. As many as 400 stores will get expanded refrigeration sections and some Family Dollar discount stores will be rebranded to the Dollar Tree brand. DUMONT, N.J. -- A judge ordered a supermarket clerk from Dumont charged with collecting child porn released pending further court action. Christian Winner, 49, was arrested Friday following a raid on his Larch Avenue home. He was taken to the Bergen County Jail before a judge released him, with conditions, under New Jersey's bail reform law following a detention hearing on Saturday. DUMONT, N.J. – A supermarket clerk from Dumont collected child porn, said authorities who arrested him Friday. Christian Winner, 49, remained held in the Bergen County Jail pending a detention hearing on possession of child pornography charges following a raid on his Larch Avenue home. Poughkeepsie Man Rips Off Wallet From K-Mart Shopper
A Poughkeepsie man is behind bars for stealing a wallet from a shopper at K-Mart in the Town of Poughkeepsie. Arnold J. Falgiano Jr., 32, was arrested Wednesday following an investigation into the theft at the store at 635 Dutchess Turnpike, said Capt. Kevin Faber. According to Faber, Falgiano was identified through store video surveillance after taking the wallet from a store counter. Falgiano was charged with felony grand larceny and is being held at the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 bond.
