ABARTA Coca-Cola Beverage will build the major facility in South Lebanon Township, the company said in a news release on Wednesday, Feb. 19. The Columbus, Ohio-based retailer plans to lay off 505 employees at its Rausch Creek Road facility, with layoffs starting January 6 and completing by March 31. "Demolition at the Nabisco site is expected to resume shortly, with state approval. A non-explosive demolition will be undertaken," said a post on the borough's website on Monday, April 22. The borough of Fair Lawn announced the implosion, set for Saturday, April 15, has been postponed. A new date and time has not been announced.  The borough did not give a reason for the postponement, though residents had expressed concern, including launching a petition, about the environmental impacts of the implosion. Amazon Opening Distribution Center In Franklin: Report Retailing giant Amazon plans to open a distribution center in Franklin Township, local officials told mycentraljersey.com.  In addition to the distribution center, slated to open by June, the company is also opening two warehouses at Weston Canal Road and Randolph Road. The site is under construction.  More than 1,000 positions on two shifts will be created, with hundreds more temporary positions created during peak holiday periods.
